Atom

Atom the Hackable Code Editor
Atom has a big fan base among programmers, it is an open-source, cross platform editor by Github. Developers love Atom because it can be customized infinitely, as it is open source there are numerous themes and plugins available to extend its capabilities and its official website also says "hackable to the core".

 Atom is mainly developed using HTML, Node.js, CSS and JavaScript. As addition of several plugins and add-ons it can work slow.

Notepad++ Light Weight Code Editor
Notepad++ is a free lightweight code editor. It is basically an incremental version of Notepad with new UI and UX than Notepad. It supports many programming languages, it is written in C++. The less usage of CPU and other hardware resources makes it more powerful and portable.

 It is basically designed for windows platform but can also run on Linux, Unix and Mac OS as well.

Sublime Text User Friendly Code Editor
Sublime is a lightweight cross-platform code editor. It is available for Windows 10, MacOS and Linux operating system. With its ‘Go to Anything’ user can jump to any section of code within the program.

 It can detect syntax and highlight the error. It also has a user friendly interface. User can also split screen into multiple columns or rows to do different work.

 The editor however does not support the print option and it also crashes frequently while loading big files.

It was developed by the team that developed Visual Studio IDE, but many languages are supported by this editor like PHP, C, C Sharp, C++, JS and many others. Smart features like IntelliSense makes it more helpful for the developers. 

 It is a lightweight editor and uses less RAM and promotes fast access and implementation.

 However the linux edition of this editor works slow.

UltraEdit Code Editor With FTP Functionalities 
UltraEdit is developed by IDM Computer Solution Inc. This can be used for many different programming languages like HTML, PHP, C, C++, Perl, JS etc. The text editor supports column/blocks editing style. The editor is also integrated with FTP for secure file transfer.

 Although the editor is very expensive as compared to other editors in list.
